remove D3 and D4
replace D4 with a 4.7k resister
install a 3.3k resister from R6 to c12 (as before)
cut trace on bottom of PCB between D3 and D4
install a 2N3904 transistor as shown (flat side down)
C goes in the bottom hole where D3 was removed
B jumps to top of 4.7k installed in D4's place
E solders to bottom of 4.7k in D4's place
10uf non polar cap goes from top hole of D3 to B lead of the transistor
